Linux Desktop Survey
Well folks, there were only a few surveys completed, so not
really enough to tabulate meaningful results. There were a
couple of responses that indicated some movement toward Linux
desktops. If anyone is interested in this topic and would like
to provide information for the edification of the chapter
please send comments or articles to the Editor, c/o info@hdi-
calgary.org.

About George Spalding
George Spalding, an
industry renowned speaker will be our guest presenter at the
Help Desk Calgary luncheon on January 29th. For over 25 years
George Spalding has been helping individuals on five
continents realize their full potential by simplifying complex
topics and inspiring people to acquire new skills. After his
appointment to the faculty of Yale University in 1972, he
spent several years as a consultant to the White House on
technical presentations and White House Conferences. During
that same period, he coordinated technical presentations for
members of the President's cabinet, the Smithsonian
Institution, the National Institutes of Health and the Federal
Bureau of Investigation.

Changes to Luncheon Tickets and Non-Member Pricing
Effective January 1, 2004
the price for non-members attending Help Desk Calgary
luncheons has been increased to $40. Member prices remain at
$25.00. If you are not a member now is the time to join!
New members and renewing members during calendar 2004 will
be elligible to attend 3 free luncheons. Once notification is
received that membership has been paid tickets will be issued.
Another great reason to join today!
Help Desk Calgary will no longer be selling luncheon
tickets. The administrative work required to maintain these
has been prohibitive. IMPORTANT: All prepaid luncheon tickets
issued in 2003 and earlier must be used by June 30, 2004.

membership through our volunteer opportunities. For more
