Membership Q & A

Q: I have recently paid my Help Desk Institute 2004 membership. Does this give me membership to Help Desk Calgary?

A: Yes. The One Association means that whichever group you join you are automatically a member of the other.

Q: I am not in the Calgary area, but have a membership to Help Desk Institute. Which local chapter does this give me membership to?

A: If you are located in Alberta you will be a member of Help Desk Calgary as this is the only local chapter in Alberta. If you are not located in Alberta you will need to locate your nearest local chapter on the Help Desk Institute website at http://www.thinkhdi.com and if they are a One Association member you will likely be a member of that chapter. In this case you should check with HDI for confirmation of your membership.

Q: Would you please clarify how many individuals can attend the luncheons when the Bronze Membership is purchased? Is it only one individual or does this apply to the membership only and not the luncheon tickets?

A: All levels of membership except Platinum Plus provide one local chapter membership. This entitles the named member to member prices at Help Desk Calgary. This member may purchase discounted luncheon tickets but if they are used by guests the guest must pay the difference between the member price and non-member price when attending a Help Desk Calgary function.

Q: My Help Desk Institute membership is paid until August 2004. Do I need to apply now for a local chapter membership with Help Desk Calgary?

A: No. As you are a current HDI member you are automatically a Help Desk Calgary member. There is no need to do anything until your HDI membership is due for renewal.
